Summer House on the Lake, a new restaurant joining the lineup at Disney Springs, has had its facade revealed on one side as construction walls have been removed from the area.

The Disney Springs location for Summer House on the Lake has been under construction for a while, taking over the space formerly slated to become Beatrix’s on Disney Springs’s West Side.

Today, we noticed most of the walls surrounding the space had been removed, revealing the building’s facade for the first time. There are still some walls up on the side of the building facing the lake, but the front is now clear.

The restaurant is not open, but is still scheduled to open sometime this year.

No official opening date has been revealed, but the building’s exterior appears complete. Even the planters have their greenery, and the porch lights are on.

Accent lighting near the top of the columns cast a golden glow, even in the broad light of day.

We’ve been tracking the progress, but this is the first time we’ve seen the building with the walls down. In the photo above, you can see the menu board ready for a copy of the new restaurant’s dining selections.

Summer House on the Lake

Summer House on the Lake was announced in the summer of 2022, taking over the space formerly planned for Beatrix Restaurant. Disney and Lettuce Entertain You had previously announced that Beatrix was merely “on hold,” but it seems they decided not to go forward with that particular project. Lettuce Entertain You is the owner of both Beatrix and Summer House Santa Monica, which are both considered Chicago staples.

Summer House on the Lake will be located in the West Side section of Disney Springs. It’s one of several eateries at Disney Springs currently under construction or refurbishment; going over to the Marketplace section of the entertainment and dining area, the specific location for EET By Maneet Chauhan, a “modern, fun, Indian-inspired” restaurant that, too, will open in 2023, was recently revealed. The exterior volcano of the nearby Rainforest Cafe is currently engulfed in scaffolding, though the restaurant remains open.
