We have a new update on the covered seating area coming to Harambe Market at Disney’s Animal Kingdom as additional roofing and copper work have been added to the structure.

The roofing of the covered seating area has changed quite a bit from our last visit. While the roof was previously covered in roof decking, new paneling has now gone on top of that decking.

Here, you can get a closer view of the additions made to the roof. Disney’s Animal Kingdom is notorious for its hot temperatures, widely known as the hottest park at Walt Disney World. The addition of this covered seating area is much-needed for guests looking to get out of the heat while they eat or relax.

Copper has been added along the edge of the roof. The months-long project to create the new seating area began in June of 2023. The construction impacts the Africa section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

From further away, you can get a better look at the location of the new seating area. It will be between three dining venues: Tamu Tamu, Zuri’s Sweet Shop, and Harambe Market. Once complete, this seating area can be used for guests dining at all of these locations.
