Meilin Lee and her mother Ming Lee from Disney and Pixar’s “Turning Red” join the Lunar New Year celebration at Disney California Adventure Park from Jan. 23 through Feb. 18, 2024, as they ring in the new year together. Guests can expect to find Meilin beginning to turn into her Red Panda form at the pathway between Grizzly Peak and Paradise Gardens Park at Disney California Adventure Park. Meilin Lee has previously appeared in red panda form at Shanghai Disney Resort and is set to appear as a panda in the Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration parade for Pixar Fest later this year. The concept art for Lunar New Year, however, shows Mei in human form with just her red panda ears and tail. Ming is pictured as fully human. The backdrop behind them features a red panda symbol and there are two red panda figures leading to the photo op.

Exact meet and greet times have not been announced.

Guests will also be able to meet Raya from “Raya and the Last Dragon,” Mulan and Mushu from “Mulan,” and Mickey and Minnie in Lunar New Year outfits. The celebration will also include Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession and the Hurry Home World of Color tag.

“Turning Red” was first released on Disney+ and in select theaters around the world on March 11, 2022. It will have its first U.S. theatrical run beginning February 9.
