There are a couple of tables under red paper lanterns if you need a spot to relax and enjoy some of the park’s Lunar New Year dishes. Check out the full menus with prices and the festival’s tasting passport. The celebration runs through February 18.

Happy Lunar New Year Magic Key Holders!

The Magic Key and Disney California Adventure logos are at the bottom.

There’s another sign about the photo op and the artist, Ann Shen.

Happy Lunar New Year! Mushu rings in the Year of the Dragon among sparkling fireworks to chase away bad luck. He brings gifts of tangerines and lucky coins for prosperity, a cherry blossom fan to wave in a fresh start, and a red lantern to light the way for a bright new year. Cri-Kee hops in with a lucky red evelope in hand!

Ann Shen previously designed an “Aristocats” merchandise collection for Disney Parks and is currently making appearances at Walt Disney World during the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts.

The photo op’s backdrop is made up of several red lanterns dangling in rows from a banner reading “Lunar New Year” and featuring the Magic Key logo. Red lanterns are a signature symbol of Lunar New Year celebrations. The main character of “Hurry Home,” the Lunar New Year tag to “World of Color – ONE,” is a red lantern.

Ann Shen’s artwork is on a standee in front of the backdrop. Guests can also see Mushu be the star of Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession.

Magic Key holders can also receive a special Lunar New Year button, but these were unavailable both times we visited the photo op.
