Since our last look at the flex space near Imagination! Pavilion at EPCOT, crews have installed more railings. They were soldering and painting them during our visit on December 29, 2023.
EPCOT Flex Space Construction
The space has previously housed a playground among other offerings and will likely continue to be a flex space. It’s next to the pavilion, behind construction walls (decorated with a Disney100 mural) along a walkway leading to World Showcase.
A new railing is in the middle of the paved section of the construction site.
A crew member was soldering a corner of this railing, which curves out from a short column.
Black lampposts are topped with white orbs.
Railings were first installed on this end of the paved area.
Two crew members were painting this railing a darker color during our visit.
In the dirt closer to the pavilion, crew members were working on a wood framework running over the ground.
On the far end of the site, what looks like a small bridge is covered in a tarp. There are several large holes in the dirt that the bridge could potentially go over.
Work on the flex space is one of the last remaining construction projects that have plagued EPCOT over the years as the park was reimagined. CommuniCore Hall and Plaza are under construction in World Celebration and are set to open this year. Disney has also been updating the exterior of Mission: SPACE and the Hotel du Canada façade.
