With just under two weeks until the grand opening of the Pixar Place Hotel, a new sign for the accommodation has been installed at the Disneyland Resort.

The reimagined hotel, which opens on January 30, 2024 at Disneyland Resort, just got a bit more official with its first outdoor sign recently installed at the hotel’s porte cochere.

The Pixar Place Hotel sign is very similar to the artwork that was shared when the overhaul was announced at D23 Expo 2022.

The sign is black, with a simple, modern white font reading “Pixar Place Hotel.” The “Pixar” portion is done in the studio’s typeface.

The star of the Pixar Place Hotel sign is, of course,  Luxo Jr., the charming, jumping lamp that appears in the Pixar tag that plays before each film and has become ubiquitous with the company. Drawn in a sketchbook style, Luxo Jr. is seen standing atop a Luxo ball, another icon of Pixar and its films.

Pixar Place Hotel is a reimagining of the former Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel, which originally opened in 1984 as the Emerald of Anaheim. The design of the hotel is more of an artistic take, with bright colors and Pixar-inspired touches, like the recently added pop-art character mobiles in the lobby.

Late last year, guests were given a sneak peek at the guest rooms, which will include Pixar-inspired touches. Two of the hotel’s three dining options — the Sketch Pad Cafe, and Great Maple — have already opened to guests. Small Bytes, the hotel’s rooftop bar, is not open yet.
