VIDEO: Guest Climbs From PeopleMover at Magic Kingdom By Herself

A guest on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover in Magic Kingdom evacuated from the ride when it stopped on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 — without Cast Member assistance.

Guest Self-Evacuates From PeopleMover

The woman was riding the PeopleMover at nighttime when it came to a stop. Rather than wait for instructions from a Cast Member, she climbed out of her vehicle and began walking along the track. The first clip in the video below shows her walking away from the vehicle as one of the guests behind the camera sarcastically says, “Bye.”

In the second video clip, the woman encounters two Cast Members on the PeopleMover track near the loading station. Rather than escorting her off the ride or back to a vehicle, the Cast Members appear to give her directions to the exit by pointing. The Cast Members and guest then go their separate ways down the track.

Evacuating a ride without Cast Member assistance usually can be dangerous and may result in being banned from Disney parks. This is an unusual incident as Cast Members didn’t seem concerned about the guest self-evacuating.

At Disneyland Paris last month, a woman and her four children attempted to evacuate from “it’s a small world” while Cast Members repeatedly told her to remain seated. Other recent guest incidents at Walt Disney World include a guest jumping or falling from a Tom Sawyer Island raft into Rivers of America and an unattended child trying to steal a blaster from a Stormtrooper and then pushing the trooper. An arrest report from Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa revealed that the Vice President of Hospitality, Sales, and Marketing for Hilton Head’s Sea Pines Resort drunkenly slapped a teenage Cast Member. He was then put on administrative leave.
