Will Disney Ever Build a 5th Gate in Florida?
This week, we’re catching up after taking off for the Super Bowl.
Disney has announced a $60 billion investment in Disney Experiences, the theme parks division of the company, over the next 10 years. During the most recent earnings call, they commented that will be spending 70% of that money on increasing capacity at the parks. While the Walt Disney World resort has continued to add hotel rooms, there hasn’t been a new park in over 25 years. How will Disney get this increased capacity, so we can avoid overcrowded days, like we’ve seen in the past few years?
We also saw so many announcements this week about Tiana’s Bayou Adventure including getting a glimpse of the new Tiana Audio-Animatronic, and a better idea of the opening plans for her attraction at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
Even as the Festival of the Arts is still going on, EPCOT has already started setting up topiaries and announcing offerings for the food and entertainment coming for the International Flower and Garden Festival! We also have sneak peeks of the California Food and Wine Festival, as well as menus for the first Food and Wine Festival in Tokyo!
Some cute new plastic treats have appeared at Disneyland, a new Popcorn Bucket and Sipper for Easter! Also, a new food spot is coming to Hollywood Studios, it’s time for the waterparks to swap, a Disney World favorite is finally reopening, and another episode of “It Came from the Parks!”
