Bob Iger, CEO of The Walt Disney Company, participated in a question and answer session on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, in which he mentioned plans to add an “Avatar” land in California.

Iger first announced the “Avatar” experience during the February 8, 2023 earnings call, in which he implied that it would be a “version” of Pandora — The World of Avatar, the land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. In March 2023, a D23 post said that the new experience would be “as amazing” as its Walt Disney World counterpart.

It was originally reported that an “Avatar” experience would be built in Disney California Adventure. However, the company has since reneged on whether it will be located in that park at all.

Iger also mentioned the possibility that other Avatar-themed areas could come to other Disney Parks around the world.

We have one Avatar-based land, Pandora, in Florida. We’re going to put a second one in in California [at Disneyland]. That doesn’t mean we can’t put one somehwere in Asia and somwhere in Europe, for instance.

This is the first time the new “Avatar” addition has been classed as a “land,” as the company has been reluctant to label it previously.
