For the first time, guests at Universal Studios Hollywood will get a taste of the ice cream served at Florean Fortescue’s, as a Florean Fortescue’s Ice-Cream Counter is opening at the theme park.

Opening Friday, March 29, the brand-new location will be found inside of Honeydukes, the sweet shop at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. This location differs from the one at Universal Studios Florida in that it won’t be its own freestanding parlour, and it will only serve soft serve ice cream, not the additional hard pack ice cream found in Florida. The soft serve flavors to be available in Hollywood are Butterbeer, banana, chocolate, mint, orange, vanilla, toffee nut, Grammy Smith apple, pistachio, and toffee apple, all served in a cup or waffle cone.

During a recent visit, Honeydukes was closed, with windows covered in preparation of the new addition. This location steers away from what fan of the “Harry Potter” series may be used to, as in the series, Florean Fortescue’s Ice-Cream Parlour is found in Diagon Alley, while Honeydukes is in Hogsmeade.

This news comes as part of Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort’s new Butterbeer Season celebration, which kicked off for the first time on March 15. The event will run through April 30, though the Florean Fortescue’s counter will be a permanent fixture beyond the event.
