‘Disney Jr.’s Ariel’ Clip, ‘Young Jedi Adventures’ Season 2 Premiere Date, and More Disney Branded Television Announcements

Disney Branded Television shared a host of announcements and first looks at new and renewed children’s TV shows at the Annecy Animation Festival.

Announcements include new “Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur” shorts, new “SuperKitties” shorts, a new “Prep & Landing” special, a fifth season of “Big City Greens,” a season two release date for “Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures,” and a first look at “Disney Jr.’s Ariel.”

Disney Branded Television is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.

“Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur: Moon Girl’s Lab”

This new series of musical S.T.E.M.-focused “Moon Girl” shorts sees Lunella Lafayette “use the power of science to take on a series of comic book villains.” There will be eight shorts, each featuring an original science-themed song from Grammy-winner Raphael Saadiq, the show’s executive music producer.

The “Moon Girl’s Lab” shorts are executive produced by Laurence Fishburne, Helen Sugland, and Steve Loter. They will premiere on Friday, June 28, on Disney Channel, Disney Channel YouTube, and Disney+. Disney shared the first song, “Adaptations,” which you can listen to below.

“Prep & Landing: The Snowball Protocol”

A new installment in the “Prep & Landing” series is coming in 2025. The first three holiday specials premiered in 2009, 2010, and 2011. In “The Snowball Protocol,” a North Pole mission goes haywire and elf Wayne fears he’s going to get in trouble with Santa. The 22-minute film is written by Hilary Heldin and directed by Shane Zalvin.

“Superkitties: Su-Purr Adventures”

This “SuperKitties” spin-off showcases the cats’ superhero skills as they work together to make the town of Kittydale a safer place. The shorts are produced by Sony Pictures Television – Kids in association with Disney Jr. They will premiere Wednesday, August 7 on Disney Jr. and Disney Channel, and then Thursday, August 8 on Disney+ and Disney Jr. YouTube.

“Big City Greens” Season Five

“Big City Greens” has been greenlit for season five, to follow this summer’s “Big City Greens the Movie: Spacecation.” The movie’s director, Anna O’Brian, has joined the series as executive producer.

“Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures” Season Two

“Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures” season two will premiere on August 14 on Disney+ and Disney Jr. The series is produced by Lucasfilm in collaboration with Wild Canary. Disney shared the above first-look artwork of the main characters.

“Disney Jr.’s Ariel”

Wild Canary also produces “Disney Jr.’s Ariel,” which debuts on June 27. The eight episodes will be available on Disney+ on June 28. See a new clip from the series below.

“Kindergarten: The Musical”

Disney released the main title theme song for “Kindergarten: The Musical” from Michelle Lewis and Charlton Pettus. The song is performed by Grammy and Tony-winning Eva Noblezada. The series will debut on Disney Jr. and Disney+ later this year.

“StuGo”

They also shared the theme song for “StuGo,” which follows six overambitious middle schoolers tricked into attending a summer camp run by a mad scientist. The series, produced by Titmouse in association with Disney Channel, will premiere this fall.

“The Doomies”

Lastly, Disney will share an exclusive first look at “The Doomies,” which was first announced in 2022. Co-directed by Andrés Fernandez, head writer Henry Gifford, and art director Rémi Zaarour, “The Doomies” follows best friends Bobby and Romy, who accidentally open a portal to the underworld transforming their serene coastal town into a hotbed of monstrous activity. It’s produced by Xilam in association with Disney+.
