REVIEW: Cookie Butter Butterscotch Cookie Returns to Gideon’s Bakehouse for June 2024

Each month, Gideon’s Bakehouse at Disney Springs features a different limited edition cookie and menu art. This month’s cookie is the returning Cookie Butter Butterscotch Cookie.

A hand holds a dark-themed flyer for "Gideon's Bakehouse: Auto Draft Edition," featuring a cartoonish character in front of a bustling outdoor scene with people walking.

The character depicted on the menu is Butterscotch, a girl who wears wolf pajamas.

The story states that Butterscotch’s “wild nature” is awakened “with the year’s first full moon” despite it being June. It seems the story wasn’t changed since she last appeared in January 2023.

Despite the butterscotch theme, the predominant flavor of this cookie is Biscoff. The butterscotch flavor is subtle, but disappointingly so. It’s sweet without being overly sweet. As always, it’s perfectly baked and big enough to share. We would eat this cookie again but wouldn’t seek it out if there were other options.

Gideon’s Bakehouse is in hot water right now following accusations by a group of employees calling themselves the Ghosts of Gideon’s. In an interview with WDWNT, the Ghosts complained about poor wages, management using slurs and derogatory terms, inaccessibility for wheelchair users, unsafe conditions when working outdoors, and poor sanitation. Gideon’s Bakehouse owner Steve Lewis has shared several statements denying the accusations. The Ghosts announced in mid May that they were in the process of unionizing with UNITEHERE! Local 362.
