The Summer Tribute Store at Universal Studios Florida has several themed treats, including the Jaws cake roll. Let’s sink our teeth in and give it a try.
Jaws Cake Roll – $7
This cream soda-flavored Swiss roll is originally from Amity Landing Restaurant at Universal Studios Japan. In addition to the Tribute Store, it’s available at Universal Islands of Adventure, where it actually comes in a “Jaws” paper boat.
This style of dessert is very similar to the Minion Cake Roll available from Bake My Day, but the Jaws Cake Roll has a much different flavor. The cake is described as cream soda-flavored and it really manages to capture that description. The cream soda cake gave us some strong Butterbeer vibes and tasted more like the iconic beverage than the Butterbeer ice lolly.
The frosting was “fin-tastic.” Sweet, soda-flavored cream filling is rolled up with blue vanilla cake and then topped with more frosting and a white chocolate shark fin. The edges of the cake were a bit dry, bordering on stale, but the center was delicious with the frosting.
The sweetness of the frosting was balanced out by the vanilla cake. Even with the hard exterior of the cake, we would still order this again just for the unique soda flavor of the frosting with the cake.
If you visit Island Market and Export at Islands of Adventure, the Jaws Cake Roll is served in this themed paper boat. This treat debuted as part of the summer Tribute Store at Universal Studios Florida, but can be found in a few different locations with a snack case.
“Jaws” fans will want to catch the new CineSational: A Symphonic Spectacular and the Universal Mega Movie Parade this summer! This would be the perfect treat to enjoy while watching the new summer entertainment offerings.
