The confirmation of the closure was shared on the Walt Disney World weather updates page, after Disney had previously said that the parks would “likely” remain closed on Thursday. The Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party scheduled for Thursday has also been cancelled.

On Thursday, October 10, our theme parks and Disney Springs will remain closed, and Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will be cancelled (event tickets will be refunded).

Disney also confirmed that it will be extending the expiration dates for partially-used multi-day tickets due to the storm.

For guests with partially used multi-day tickets, Walt Disney World is making accommodations by extending the ticket expiration dates. These tickets will now expire on October 11, 2025.

Minnie Van service will be unavailable starting at 4 p.m. on Wednesday and will resume when it is safe to do so. Limited Mears taxi service will be available to Walt Disney World Resort guests.

Walt Disney World Resort began its park closures for Hurricane Milton earlier today, with Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom closing at 1 p.m.; Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Disney Springs will close at 2 p.m. Parking garages at Disney Springs will also close at 2 p.m., and remain unavailable to guests during the storm.

A curfew has been issued for Osceola County, which includes parts of Walt Disney World, which begins at 8 p.m. on Wednesday evening. Both the Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort areas are currently under a Tornado Watch.

We saw Cast Members hard at work in Magic Kingdom this morning preparing for the storm as guests enjoyed their last few hours in the park.

On Saturday, October 5, a State of Emergency was issued for Walt Disney World due to the storm, and Milton was classified as a hurricane on October 6. Hurricane Milton quickly grew from a Category 4 to a Category 5 storm, but is currently a Category 4 at the time of publishing. A Hurricane Warning was issued for the Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort areas on October 7.

Other operational changes at Walt Disney World due to the hurricane include paused hotel reservations for October 9 and 10, blocked out park reservations for October 9, and waived resort cancellation and change fees for guests.

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, the Copper Creek Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, and the Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa closed at 11 a.m. on October 9.
