The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for parts of Florida, including Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort, ahead of Hurricane Milton hitting the state.
Tornado Watch
The Hurricane Watch is in effect for Orange and Osceola counties, which encompass Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort, as well as Brevard, Lake, Polk, Seminole, and Volusia counties. The watch is in effect until at least 9 p.m.
While a watch does not mean a tornado will form, several have been spotted across the state. Coastal and other at-risk areas are under tornado warning, meaning the weather events will definitely form.
Hurricane Milton is currently a Category 4 storm and will make landfall on the Gulf Coast late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning. Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort theme parks are closing due to the storm.
Osceola County also announced a curfew.
