Ewan McGregor Says They Are ‘Exploring’ a Possible Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2

Actor Ewan McGregor, who plays Obi-Wan Kenobi in the prequel films plus the live-action Disney+ series, said that they are “exploring” possibilities for a second season.

Rumors of a season two for “Obi-Wan Kenobi” have been swirling since the first season ended, but the outlook has never been great. However, McGregor has been saying he was on board to return if the studio decided to.

The first season ended on what many fans felt was a satisfactory note, tying up the various plot points and seeming to lead into Kenobi’s future. According to IGN, at the recent Los Angeles Comic Con, McGregor pointed to the flashbacks from “Ahsoka,” where Hayden Christiansen’s Anakin Skywalker appeared in the “Clone Wars” era costumes, as evidence that there was more to explore.

“Obviously between the end of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series and when Alec Guinness is Obi-Wan Kenobi, there’s got to be another few stories in there,” McGregor told the crowd.

Rumors of a second season seemed to be quashed when the Blu-Ray release was labeled as “The Complete Series” rather than “The Complete First Season” like other Disney+ shows.
