The light-up pavement of World Celebration in EPCOT has been restored and reactivated, now illuminating the area and syncing with Spaceship Earth light shows.

The lighting creates the EPCOT logo around the central planter of World Celebration Gardens. When we photographed them on Tuesday night, they were illuminated green.

World Celebration officially opened on December 5, 2023 — but the lights were experiencing issues by the next day. We continued to notice broken lighting effects into the summer of 2024. In mid-November, the pavement lights were completely turned off.

In late November, the lights were turned back on but they still didn’t work quite right. They were quickly turned back off. It looks like the issues have mostly been fixed.

We did spot one strip of broken lighting on the ground outside CommuniCore Hall, but the overall effect is restored for now.

The lights of World Celebration gardens, including the pavement lights and others, sync with Spaceship Earth shows. For the 2024 EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, Spaceship Earth features a “Frozen” holiday light show. Watch it below.
