“Stories from the Lamp: Aladdin Retold” is an entertaining and comedic retelling of the story of “Aladdin” aboard the Disney Treasure.
Stories from the Lamp: Aladdin Retold
Storytellers Coriander and Sage take to the stage of the Treasure’s Grand Hall to retell the story of “Aladdin” and other Disney classics. Guests can sit on the floor in front of the stage for the show as there are no actual seats. The stage is set with a tent that sits front and center containing multiple props that will be used during the show.
The show begins with the two storytellers singing the opening song Arabian Nights from the movie “Aladdin.” They implore the audience to “use their imaginations” as they use the objects and treasures from the trunks on stage to tell the story.
Coriander and Sage introduce the characters from the story including Aladdin, Jasmine, Jafar, Iago, the Sultan, Carpet, and Genie.
We even caught a glimpse of Mickey enjoying the show.
The story then begins with the magic lamp inside the Cave of Wonders sought after by Jafar. The Grand Hall is Agrabah-themed and features a figure of the Magic Lamp that the storytellers use.
The show continues with multiple music numbers performed by Coriander and Sage including “One Jump Ahead,” “Friend Like Me,” “Prince Ali,” and “A Whole New World.”
Coriander and Sage re-enact the main scenes from the film. The show comes to an end as Aladdin wishes for the Genie’s freedom and Princess Jasmine becomes Sultan.
One performance is about 20 minutes. You can watch the full show of the “Stories from the Lamp: Aladdin Retold” below.
Other motifs from Aladdin can be seen throughout the Disney Treasure.
The Grand Hall features a bronze statue of Aladdin and Jasmine on the Magic Carpet.
Some of the Deluxe Family Oceanview Staterooms aboard the ship have an “Aladdin” theme as well.
