Ironwork has been installed on a newly visible facade for the new Pirates of the Caribbean tavern at Magic Kingdom.
Pirates of the Caribbean Tavern Construction
Construction continues on the Pirates of the Caribbean Tavern in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom. The new venue was announced in September 2023 and progress steadily continues.
The newest update on the construction is noticeable ironwork visible on the exterior walls.
The ironwork sits just below the roof just outside of Plaza del Sol Caribe and has an intricate design. Within the last few days, the walls have also received a new layer of paint. Blue painter’s tape and plastic coverings can still be seen along the newly painted walls and ceiling beams.
In November 2024 steel frames went up for the walls, followed by wall texture and shading in December.
The tavern is currently set to open later this year. The storyline will expand the lore of Pirates of the Caribbean and reintroduce Peg-Leg Pete, a.k.a. the Barker Bird. New concept art of the space was released in November 2024. The venue will presumably take over the footprint of the former Pirates League transformation experience, which permanently closed in 2020.
The new space, as described by Disney Parks Blog, will be a place where “…bandits and buccaneers-to-be from every corner of the seven seas are welcome to join together and raise a toast to the pirate life!”
