Pteranodon Flyers Reopens

People eagerly stand in line at the theme park entrance, surrounded by lush greenery and colorful signage. Under the bright blue sky, excitement buzzes as they anticipate soaring adventures like the Pteranodon Flyers.

Pteranodon Flyers is in the Jurassic Park section of Universal Islands of Adventure. The minimum height requirement is 36 inches (92 centimeters). It’s unique in that it was designed for kids so also has a maximum height requirement — 56 inches (143 centimeters). Taller riders are allowed to accompany those who meet the height requirement, and a supervising companion is required for riders under 48 inches (122 centimeters).

The sign for the thrilling "Pteranodon Flyers" ride showcases a dinosaur silhouette soaring above the text, while listing height requirements. A man is partially visible upfront, adding a sense of anticipation to this prehistoric adventure.

Around 10 a.m. on Friday, the wait time was only 35 minutes.

Two people enjoy the thrilling Pteranodon Flyers as they glide through the treetops under a clear blue sky on this suspended roller coaster.

Taking flight beneath the 10-foot wings of a Pteranodon, little adventurers will get an amazing view of all the theme-park excitement below. They’ll slowly soar and gently swing through the air in a comfy seat suspended from a track above. With no sudden or scary movements, this ride is perfect for younger guests not ready for big-kid thrills.

A theme park ride on a suspended track, much like the exhilarating Pteranodon Flyers, carries passengers through lush greenery and mountain-like structures in the background.

The ride closed unexpectedly on April 16, 2024. It never reopened and Universal added the attraction to their list of closures with no reopening date. In early January, team members began testing the ride.
