Concrete walls have been added to the facade of the Universal Studios Store expansion in CityWalk.
Universal Studios Store Construction
In our last update, we reported that crews had begun installing glass windows on the storefront. As construction work continues, concrete walls have been added to the building’s exterior.
To the right of the new wall is an area with a tarp covering and red tape. It’s unclear what is covered, though it could be another concrete wall.
The next section to the right of the wall is glass windows and what appears to be an entry door. This section is covered in plastic and red tape as well, to protect it as construction work continues. A red Essick cement mixer can be seen behind the construction wall, in front of the new entryway.
TYPAR wrap has also been added to the awning above to protect it as work continues.
In our previous update, the glass windows installed here were uncovered, but are now covered in a plastic tarp, surrounded by red tape. To the right is what appears to be another concrete wall, which is now uncovered since our last update.
Two scissor lifts were in use, as crew members were working on the awning. They appear to be adding cement to the back upper wall.
We previously reported that the elevator had been closed off with construction walls. The walls have now been moved back to either side of the elevator and the walkway is open again, allowing access to guests.
Many construction supplies remain in the area behind the walls, including ladders, glass pieces, boxes, rolling carts, and other materials.
Once completed, the expanded Universal Studios Store will have a new Harry Potter section and a Super Nintendo World section. The store will carry Epic Universe merchandise as well.
