The new wands were first shared on the Universal Orlando Resort Instagram page.

New Interactive Wands Revealed for Epic Universe

When Epic Universe opens on May 22, the new interactive wands will be available for guests to purchase at Cosme Acajor Baguettes Magique in Place Cachée in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic.

The wands vary in design, with each one sporting intricate details, unique textures, and jewel-tone colors. The wands each have a sensor that sticks out from the tip of the wand, which allows them to interact with the spells in the land via an infrared camera.

An extravagant store interior, reminiscent of an Epic Universe theme park, features a woman in a lavish outfit surrounded by displays of ornate crystal sculptures, with other visitors admiring the pieces.

According to the official Universal Orlando Resort website, Cosme Acajor is an esteemed artisan wandmaker who has designed some of the finest wands in the world.

The wands will immerse guests in all-new experiences including casting spells and interacting with fantastic beasts and enchanted objects.

Last year, we reported on the new upgrades being implemented at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. In Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade, new infrared cameras were installed.

While the upgrades do improve guests’ ability to cast spells, it’s likely the changes were also due to the new wands that will soon be available. The new wands are rumored to link up to the Universal Orlando app and could potentially track guests’ progress with spells and allow them to unlock new features.

What do you think of Cosme Acajor’s new wands? Will you be adding any to your collection? Let us know in the comments.
