Luke Skywalker will make his debut at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge this year.
Luke Skywalker at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Disney Parks teased Luke’s arrival with a social media video of the character and R2-D2 in front of the Millennium Falcon at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
In a follow-up comment, Disney said more details are expected on February 10, 2025. They added the hashtags #SeasonOfTheForce and #Disneyland, indicating this character meet and greet will only be at the California park, not Walt Disney World. Season Of The Force is an annual “Star Wars” celebration at Disneyland honoring May the 4th. It’s set to take place from March 28 through May 11, 2025.
Luke Skywalker has never appeared in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and R2-D2 has only made rare appearances. The video suggests Luke will appear as his young self, from around the same time period as “The Mandalorian.” He’s dressed in his black Jedi outfit, with a black glove on his right hand.
Young Luke is anachronistic to the time period of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, which is generally set between episodes 8 and 9 of the “Star Wars” sequels, when Luke is an old man. “The Mandalorian,” on the other hand, is set soon after the events of episode 6. Din Djarin and Fennec Shand from “The Mandalorian” have appeared in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, but those characters could ostensibly still be around by the sequel era. Din Djarin wears a helmet so there’s no aging visible. Fennec Shand, on the other hand, appears as young (or even younger) than she did in the series.
Disneyland is not as strict about the land’s timeline as Walt Disney World. This was originally because of the interactive nature of Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser at Walt Disney World, but the hotel has permanently closed (and will become an office building).
Walt Disney World may be getting closer to breaking the land’s canon, however, as a new Mandalorian & Grogu adventure is set to come to both versions of Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. We don’t yet know when the adventure is set, but if it’s around the same time as the series, it would be several years before the rest of the land.

That’s not a tease. That’s confirmation. They showed him. There was no ambiguity. Not like when Mando was about to come out.
