The extended refurbishment of Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Crystal Skull at Tokyo DisneySea has been rescheduled.
Indiana Jones Adventure Closure
The Indiana Jones Adventure landing page lists a “Temporary Closure of Park Facilities” starting August 18, 2025. An end date is TBD (to be determined).
Last year, the Tokyo DisneySea schedule listed a year-long closure for Indiana Jones Adventure from March 5, 2025, through March 4, 2026. Soon after we reported on the closure, however, it was removed from the calendar. Though an end date has not been announced for this newly listed refurbishment, it may be a year as originally intended. Details of the refurbishment were not announced.
Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Crystal Skull opened with Tokyo DisneySea in 2001 as part of the Lost River Delta port. It’s unrelated to the fourth Indiana Jones film, “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,” which was released 7 years later.
Though it has a similar ride experience as Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Forbidden Eye, which opened in 1995 at Disneyland, it features a different story involving an Aztec temple. The pre-show is hosted by an original character, Paco, instead of Sallah.
Experience the temple tours organized by Paco, a friend of Dr. Indiana Jones. But wait. The temple’s vengeful guardian spirit, the Crystal Skull, is not happy about this at all. When the spirit’s anger is unleashed, will you get out alive!?
DINOSAUR in Disney’s Animal Kingdom will become a third version of the Indiana Jones ride. DINOSAUR opened with the park in 1998, utilizing the same ride system and similar layout to Disneyland’s Indiana Jones attraction. The Florida version will have a brand new story set in a Mayan temple, to go with the park’s new Tropical Americas land.
