With one section of the seating in Tortuga Tavern reopened to guests, construction work continues on the last remaining area of floor replacements.
Tortuga Tavern Floor Replacement

Tortuga Tavern is a quick-service dining location in Magic Kingdom Park. For the past several weeks, Disney has been working on completely ripping-up the old flooring and replacing it with new stone tiles and red bricks. This left section of the restaurant just recently reopened as a seating area, while the section behind the temporary planters is still being finished.

While this left seating area just reopened, one small section of stone has already been covered with a painted board. The board is attached flat to the ground and lines up with the stone surrounding it.

It is currently unknown why these new stones would already be covered, but perhaps there was a problem with some of the flooring between the columns and the planter. The board has been painted dark grey to match the surrounding stones.

Peeking between the temporary planters stationed around the back half of the seating area, we can get a glimpse of the still-ongoing floor replacement. As with the front half, the stones have been ripped up, and the wood beams holding the floor in place are visible.

Several loose stones and tools are scattered around the area. The planters that used to surround these palm trees also appear to be removed, though the trees are untouched.

Small wood blocks line the sides of the red bricks, which surround the grey stones in a square pattern. The stones have yet to be installed, and the plain dirt sitting below them is still visible.

While guests are allowed to use the open seating area in Tortuga Tavern, the restaurant’s ordering window has not reopened. The restaurant usually operates seasonally and will open on days when Magic Kingdom is more crowded. However, Tortuga Tavern has been closed since June 2024.
The space was renamed Tortuga Treasures for a brief period in 2024 as the construction on the Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar meant there was no Pirates of the Caribbean merchandise location. After the merchandise was removed, Tortuga Tavern was listed on the Disney World calendar as reopening in January 2025. The restaurant did not reopen, and construction began shortly afterward to replace all of the flooring instead. The seating area with the new flooring partially reopened on February 17. No times for the restaurant’s ordering window are listed on the Disney World website through April 24, which is currently the last visible day on the calendar.
