The Universal Horror Unleashed hype video released on Wednesday features new concept art and glimpses of the destination’s set pieces.
New Universal Horror Unleashed Concept Art
Universal announced with the release of the hype video that Universal Horror Unleashed — a new year-round horror experience in Las Vegas — will open on August 14 and tickets are now on sale.
The first piece of new concept art shows the exterior of Universal Horror Unleashed. It’s made to look like a decrepit warehouse, with red light glowing through windows. Guests enter through a giant door. This art is reminiscent of the first piece of Universal Horror Unleashed concept art, below.
Construction of Universal Horror Unleashed also reflects this building design.
In the hype video, show producer Sean Chung explains that Universal Horror Unleashed takes place in a warehouse full of ancient cursed artifacts.
Reflecting Chung’s description, much of the new artwork shows large rooms with crates of interesting props. The above art shows film reels and barrels with “Caution” labels.
This piece seems to show the same room from a different angle. Note the doorways in both have the same slanted shape. In addition to crates and barrels, it depicts a Scareactor with some kind of blade jumping out at guests.
A piece of green-tinted art shows guests walking through a room with tall shelves of items. The open boxes in the foreground hold creepy dolls.
This new piece shows Jack the Clown performing on a small stage, in front of a giant painting of himself. An aerialist spins from the ceiling. There are glowing jack-o’-lanterns among crates. This appears to be an updated version of the artwork below, which includes Jack on a stage above a bar.
A trademark for the name “Jack’s Alley” suggests this is a carnival-themed restaurant featuring Jack the Clown entertainment. The hype video also showed Jack performing.
Live video in the hype video also seems to depict Jack’s Alley, giving us our first look at real set pieces. Note this video may not have been taken inside the actual Universal Horror Unleashed. It’s likely Universal arranged some sets for filming and the actual experience may look different.
The video clips show guests dining and drinking surrounded by scary clowns in an alley-like setting.
Speaking of drinking, the last new piece of concept art shows a bar with a giant steampunk-like machine behind it.
Another video clip sees patrons collecting drinks from a bar that looks like it’s in a subway station. It has a curved ceiling of bricks and giant gears on the back wall.
Two other blue-tinted clips show guests among castle-like sets. In one, guests are standing around candlelit tables. A fake moon is on the ceiling and Scareactors look down from a stone archway.
Another clip shows a Scareactor reaching out from a window above an archway, with angelic statues to the sides. This resembles the previously released concept art below.

The four year-round houses at Universal Horror Unleashed will be Universal Monsters, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Scarecrow: The Reaping, and Blumhouse’s The Exorcist: Believer. The 110,000-square-foot experience is part of AREA15.
