Universal has installed a new sign at the entrance of Raptor Encounter in Universal Islands of Adventure.

Raptor Encounter Meet and Greet

The new sign is on the left side of the Raptor Encounter entrance. It reads, “Raptor Encounter meet and greet, come face-to-face with a Velociraptor.” Under those initial words are two pictures, one of a Jurassic Park team member holding a baby dinosaur and another of guests with Blue, the adult raptor.

Text below the pictures reads, “This meet and greet features a live interaction with a dinosaur and includes loud noises and sudden, intense effects.”

A team member at the entrance also had a laminated paper ad featuring the same two pictures with the text, “Meet and greet, come face to face with a Velociraptor.”

Previously, Raptor Encounter only had its main sign above the entrance. It’s possible the lack of descriptive signage led to confusion for guests who didn’t know the experience was a meet and greet, not a ride or show, or who didn’t realize how startling the experience could be. The raptors are full-size meet and greet characters who are separated from guests by a low wall but do suddenly lunge forward, roar, and threaten to eat guests.
