A new wheelchair ramp has been installed at The Little Mermaid – Ariel’s Undersea Adventure in Disney California Adventure. This addition is part of a recent update aimed at improving accessibility and safety for guests who may need an alternative way to exit the attraction.

The queue for the ride underwent modifications in 2024, including the addition of Lightning Lane touchpoints to accommodate Disney’s paid line-skipping service. These changes were designed to improve guest flow and allow for a more efficient boarding process. While the newly installed ramp is a welcome addition, it is not intended to be the primary access point for guests using mobility devices. Instead, it serves as an emergency exit and an alternative for those who may need to leave the queue before reaching the boarding area.

The fence on the ramp currently features blue paneling, which differs from the design elements on the rest of the queue’s fence, which features decorative bubble-themed iron embellishments, complementing the undersea theme of the attraction. It remains unclear whether Disney plans to modify the ramp’s appearance to blend more seamlessly with the rest of the queue.

Although no official announcement has been made regarding further updates to the ramp, Disney often makes additional refinements to new additions over time. Guests visiting the park in the coming months may notice changes as Disney continues to adjust and enhance the ride’s queue experience.
