At SXSW, Disney suggested that their universe in Epic Games’ Fortnite may connect to the guest experience Disney Parks.

“The Mandalorian” creator Jon Favreau appeared on stage with Imagineer Asa Kalama during “The Future of World-Building at Disney” to talk about Imagineering’s upcoming collaborations with Lucasfilm. They announced BD-X droids will come to more Disney Parks, revealed a new droidsmith Audio-Animatronic, and released details of the new Mandalorian and Grogu mission coming to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. The latter attraction utilizes Unreal Engine, a system developed by Epic Games.

Last year, Disney announced a partnership with Epic Games to create a Disney universe in Fortnite. Asa said the universe would be an “incredible new way for us to tell stories.”

“Imagine,” he continued, “what if you could go to the park and have an experience in Smuggler’s Run, go on this amazing mission but then have that affect or connect [to] your gameplay at home?”
