The new Disney Vacation Club Lounge in Magic Kingdom, dubbed McKim’s Mile House — A Member Lounge, is now open in Magic Kingdom for eligible DVC members.

People stand in front of a log cabin-style structure with a wooden sign reading "Frontier," reminiscent of the rustic charm you'd find on McKim's Mile House. Trees and a blue sky form the perfect backdrop, evoking the adventurous spirit found near Magic Kingdom.

Located in Frontierland, this new lounge invites members to relax and recharge in a highly themed space. It takes up the footprint of the former Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade, which closed last summer. We last reported on construction for the new lounge earlier this week as things were wrapping up.

A wooden sign on the stone wall reads "Disney Vacation Club McKim's Mile House" – a member lounge nestled in the heart of Magic Kingdom, honoring the pioneers of hospitality.

A new sign out front informs passersby that this is McKim’s Mile House, “Home to the Pioneers of Hospitality.” A permit was filed for the installation of this sign in early February.

The exterior of the lounge features various flyers, letters, and decor, including lanterns and aprons.

These flyers allude to benefits and resorts for Disney Vacation Club, like “Find your home on the range away from home,” and “A faithful old route. Direct coach services to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.”

A handwritten letter on aged paper, tacked onto a wooden surface, recounts enchanting experiences in a seaside tropical village, much like the whimsical ambiance of Magic Kingdom.

A letter nailed to the wall references the recently opened Disney Vacation Club Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, and reads,

Aloha Gracie,

So this is what you meant by island getaways! I was confused when my coach drove onto a steamer ship, but by the time we reached Polynesia I was one overjoyed outlaw.

I can finally relax at this here Island Tower. Just think, me robbing all those stagecoaches and now one takes me to the nicest digs I ever done stayed in.

I’m a bandit no more. I heard talk in the village about ocean “way finding.” With the local paniolos — that’s Hawaiian for cowboys. The future looks bright, or maybe that’s the island sun. Better find my hat!

Thanks again!

According to Disney, every aspect of this new lounge “tells a story,” including its name — which references Sam McKim, a Disney Legend and concept artist for the original Frontierland in Disneyland Park.

A stone fireplace with a wooden mantel displays a clock, framed photo, and oil lamp, reminiscent of McKim's Mile House. Above, a framed painting of a log cabin hangs on the chimney, with two lanterns flanking this cozy setup.

Imagineers were inspired by the historic mile houses of the American West, and combined this inspiration with McKim’s contributions and the story of Frontierland.

Mile houses what we would now consider to be hotels. There, travelers could check in to rest from their travels. The new member lounge is described as being “operated by a fictional McKim family of hospitality pioneers.”

The wooden hallway, reminiscent of a Disney Vacation Club lounge, showcases rustic decor, floral wallpaper, and wall lamps. A door adorned with a discreet "B.T. Bullion" sign stands out amid dark beams and a sturdy railing—a cozy echo of Magic Kingdom's enchanting charm.

Looking around the lounge, guests might notice stairs that “lead” up to boarding rooms, with some of them occupied by familiar names from around Frontierland. One such room belongs to the owner and founder of Big Thunder Mining Company, Barnabas T. Bullion. Down the hall is another room occupied by M. Davis, a reference to Disney Legend Marc Davis.

Four framed artworks depicting wildlife and landscapes hang on a dark wood-paneled wall, reminiscent of the serene retreats found within McKim's Mile House.

Despite the stairs, members are not able to access the lounge’s second floor, and will have to admire the theming from the seating area. Original artwork and details from McKim himself are also on display.

A wooden wall adorned with assorted framed pictures, capturing the whimsical essence of a Disney Vacation Club Lounge, including enchanting drawings and portraits in various sizes and styles.

Other visual aspects throughout the space highlight the backstory of the fictional McKim family who operates the lounge, including drawings “created” by the McKim children.

Weathered brick wall with text: "The Frontier's Best Kept Secret." Nearby are a stair railing, a plant, and a light fixture, evoking the rustic charm of McKim's Mile House.

As previously shown, one wall has a mural with a slogan painted in various Western-style fonts. This slogan — “The Frontier’s Best Kept Secret” — is a special nod to a former slogan for Disney Vacation Club, “Discover the best kept Disney secret.”

Two futuristic beverage machines with colorful screens sit in a cozy, wood-paneled Disney Vacation Club lounge, featuring blue seating and round tables.

The lounge offers a variety of comfortable sofas and chairs where members can relax. Complimentary soft drinks are also available. Other amenities include complimentary Wi-Fi and phone charging spaces. Member Services Advisors are also on-site to help out with any questions or issues.

Disney Vacation Club McKim’s Mile House – A Member Lounge is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. EST (subject to change) and all eligible DVC members with valid park tickets and reservations to Magic Kingdom can visit. Members can bring in up to four (4) guests per Membership Card, or the number of guests on their resort reservation booked with their membership.

Disney also released a video of the new lounge on social media, which you can watch below:
