The trademark may not be used for all of these possible services.

A parade float featuring a large dinosaur model stands on rocky terrain, flanked by two people in green shirts. A crowd watches under a cloudy sky and palm trees, capturing the essence of the Universal Mega Movie Parade.

The name and logo are similar to those of Universal Mega Movie Parade, which debuted at Universal Studios Florida last summer with floats inspired by “Jaws,” “Jurassic Park,” “Ghostbusters,” “Back to the Future,” Minions, and more. The parade has been on hiatus since November but will return in April after Mardi Gras celebrations end.

The parade went with the Summer Tribute Store dedicated to classic movies. The “summer” store actually remained open until early January 2025. The new trademark could mean a larger celebration around the return of the parade, maybe including another Tribute Store and more offerings.

This summer marks the milestone anniversaries of 15 years of “Despicable Me” and Minions, 40 years of “Back to the Future,” and 50 years of “Jaws.” A larger celebration could incorporate these anniversaries.

Though the Universal Mega Movie Parade is at Universal Orlando Resort, the trademark does not specify it’s for the Florida resort. It could also be used for Universal Studios Hollywood.

Universal also filed a trademark for the parade name, which remains pending. The Universal Mega Movie Summer trademark is awaiting examination.
