The Disneyland Monorail has returned to service and with it, the new entrance gates are open at Downtown Disney District. The Monorail closed for refurbishment on January 6, 2025.
Monorail Returns to Service

The Monorail can once again be spotted looping around the resort. There aren’t many significant changes post-refurbishment, especially not inside the park. The most noticeable differences are over at Downtown Disney District.

On the approach to the Downtown Disney District station, guests can see that the work on Parkside Market is now complete. The biggest change, however, is on the ground at the station.
Refurbished Downtown Disney Monorail Entrance

The new entrance gates are now complete and operational. The entrance was redesigned as part of the overall changes to the west side of the district. A new overhead structure with a curved design was added over the gates.

The above photo is from early 2023, showing the previous style of the entrance area. With the new overhead, the umbrellas are no longer needed to shield guests and Cast Members from the sun and rain.

In addition to the new overhead structure, new gates, signage, and digital screens were added to the entrance and exit.

For comparison, above is a photo of the station from inside before the renovations. The old look was more open with less directional signage.

The digital signs have Mickey Mouse graphics thanking guests for coming.

The new gates match the new gates at Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure. These have Downtown Disney District specific graphics including midcentury modern-esque stars, while the gates at the parks have unique graphics.
As part of the changes, a permanent gate was added to the service entrance as well.
