Exterior

People wait in line outside the entrance to a "Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry" themed attraction at MetropolZoo, with a green arched sign and informational board visible at the front.

A stone archway with an awning of translucent panels and green detailing leads to the entrance of the attraction. Guests use the Métro-Floo (Floo Network) to travel from Place Cachée in Paris to the British Ministry of Magic in London.

A sign at an amusement park details safety guidelines and restrictions for the "Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry" ride, with people standing nearby.

To the right of the entrance is the attraction sign containing an overview of the ride, details on the attraction, as well as warnings for guests who should not ride. The top of the sign displays the posted wait time. Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry is currently using a virtual line.

Métro-Floo Pre-Show

Guests walk through the Métro-Floo station, which resembles a Paris Métro station with curved white walls and large murals advertising different Parisian Wizarding services, like owl post.

A person stands in a subway station with ornate green archways and white tiled walls under bright lights.

A row of large green fireplaces is at the end of the station. A team member will ask how many are in your party and send you through one of the fireplaces. Each fireplace has an illuminated number above it.

A green brick wall with thick, glowing green smoke or mist—reminiscent of the magical atmosphere in Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry—spreading along the ground in front of it.

As guests walk through a stone tunnel, there’s a flash of green light and smoke, recreating the magic of the Floo Network as seen in the “Harry Potter” films.

A green-lit, waterfall-like barrier flows between ornate gold and black tile columns inside a dimly lit, art deco style room—evoking the magical atmosphere of Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry.

Guests will then find themselves in the British Ministry, entering through green and gold fireplaces.

Ministry of Magic Atrium

People walk through an ornate, arched hallway with shiny black tiles and golden light fixtures.

The Ministry’s atrium is one of the most iconic sets from the “Harry Potter” films, finally recreated in detail for guests to see in person. The floo fireplaces are in a tunnel of green tile.

Hall with dark green tiles, ornate gold columns, and bright lamps; classic, grand, and dramatic interior design.

Fireplaces not in use have signs reading “Foo Closed Sweeping in Progress.”

There’s a “Ministry Munchies” cart, evidently the Ministry’s on-location coffee and snack shop. There are more references to this throughout the queue.

A grand hall with golden statues and a large sign reading "The Trial of Dolores Umbridge Today.

Guests step into a larger space, where giant banners advertise the trial of Dolores Umbridge today.

The center banner cycles through moving images of Umbridge in her prisoner’s garb and Kingsley Shacklebolt, the new Minister for Magic.

Dimly lit indoor scene with people observing a large golden statue, reminiscent of Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, an illuminated multi-story facade, and a projected black-and-white image of a woman on the left side.

On the walls to the sides are office windows between red-tiled columns.

Typewriters, ceiling fans, coat racks, and lamps are visible through the windows.

Golden dragon-shaped horn fixture with red interior mounted on a tiled wall, under ceiling lights.

The curved elements holding up the office structures resemble a scaled creature with sharp teeth and a red column emerging from its mouth.

A metal newspaper stand displays Daily Prophet papers with the headline "Umbridge Stands Trial Today," set against a tiled backdrop—recalling tense moments from Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry.

There are newspaper stands featuring The Daily Prophet with the headline “Umbridge Stands Trial Today.”

At the center is the Fountain of Magical Brethren, made up of golden statues of a witch, centaur, house-elf, and goblin. The wizard is a separate statue a different pedestal through an archway in accessible to guests.

Large ornate golden gate set in a green-tiled archway, with dim lighting and empty queue barriers in front.

After the atrium, guests enter a sort of check-in area. The wait time is displayed again in this area.

Dimly lit circular room with multiple levels, small office windows around the perimeter, a central lamp post, and wanted posters on the walls—reminiscent of scenes from Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry.

In this rotunda, there are three floors of windows, mostly closed for business. In the center is a circular desk where Ministry guests can fill out forms as needed.

Circular interior with numbered booths resembling old prison cells, surrounded by a balcony and metal railings—evoking Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry—with posters and a central kiosk in the foreground.

Thankfully, we already know our business and can proceed without paperwork.

View of an old-fashioned office with shelves of rolled and folded papers, wooden drawers, and several ink stamps on a desk behind a glass window—like a scene from Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry.

Through one window, guests can see a cabinet packed full of mail, as well as stamps and forms on a desk.

There are moving wanted posters here and throughout the rest of the queue for Death Eaters Alecto Carrow, Corban Yaxley, and Walden Macnair. We’re sure these are just precautions and we won’t encounter any Death Eaters today…

The queue continues down another green tile hallway lined with informational posters.

A large, illuminated mural depicts an intricate cityscape with domed buildings and silhouettes of towers, reminiscent of scenes from Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, viewed by several people standing in the foreground.

A glowing map of the Ministry shows guests all of its tube-shaped sections below the city of London. There are notices on the border of the map.

These inform guests of the weather, postponed meetings, summer internships, and the location of the trial: Courtroom X (10). There’s a welcome note from Minister Shacklebolt. Other notices warn guests that persons, beasts, or beings without proper ID should be reported and to refrain from using the Sonorus Charm in the halls. The spell is used to amplify someone’s voice.

Hall of Ministers

A dimly lit room with black tile walls evokes the atmosphere of Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, featuring framed portraits and a central stone bust above a group of people. Several lights illuminate the artworks.

This room showcases the portraits (and one bust) of past and present Ministers for Magic. As is normal with Wizarding World portraits, all the subjects move and speak.

Framed portraits of historical figures evoke a scene from Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, hanging on a cream-colored wall above dark tiles and illuminated by wall-mounted lights in an indoor setting.

There’s one empty spot, likely where the portrait of Pius Thicknesse should be. Thicknesse was Minister during Voldemort’s reign but was the villain’s puppet, under the control of Death Eater Corban Yaxley.

Five framed portraits hang high on a wall above a row of dark tiles and an exit sign, evoking the mysterious ambiance of Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry in a dimly lit room.

Kingsley Shacklebolt’s portrait is in one corner of the room.

Framed portraits and a sculpted bust are displayed on a wall above dark tiles and an exit sign, evoking the ambiance of Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, all beneath warm overhead lighting.

Cornelius Fudge, who was Minister for most of the “Harry Potter” books, is next to the bust.

A marble bust is displayed in a recessed wall niche between two framed portraits; a plaque below the bust reads "QUICK GAMP," hinting at legends from Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry.

The bust is of Ulick Gamp, who was the first Minister for Magic from 1707 to 1718. It speaks, just like the portraits.

Three framed portraits hang on a wall above dark tiles and an illuminated exit sign, with wall sconces between the paintings—reminiscent of scenes from Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry.

Also notable is Rufus Scrimgeour (on the far left), who was Minister for one year before being murdered by Voldemort.

Auror Offices

Dimly lit hallway with black tiled walls, white windows above, and hanging lamps; reminiscent of Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, several people are visible at the bottom of the image.

Guests then weave in and out of a hallway and a couple of rooms.

Dimly lit room with dark tiled walls, black railings, benches, and a "CLEANING IN PROGRESS" sign; the scene evokes the mysterious atmosphere of Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, with a person standing near a display in the background.

In the center of this hall is a lounge area with benches — but there won’t be any lounging today as cleaning is in progress.

A sign reading "Cleaning in Progress" stands in front of a queue of people inside a building with dark purple tiles and warm lighting, reminiscent of a scene from Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry.

The sign says, “Cleaning in Progress, your patience is appreciated (and expected), the Ministry of Magic wishes you a safe and pleasant day.”

A "Cleaning In Progress" sign is posted above a roped-off area in a busy indoor space, where people stand in line behind a metal fence—reminiscent of waiting for Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry adventure.

Sitting on the benches are coffee cups and paper bags.

They feature a logo for “Ministry Munchies.”

A green animatronic vacuum with a white hose cleans up paper in a roped-off area at Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, while people wait in line behind it; a sign reads "Cleaning in Progress.

A magical machine is between the benches, sweeping up papers.

Dimly lit room with glass globes connected to hoses on metal stands, papers scattered on a table, and people waiting behind a barrier—evoking the tense atmosphere of Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry.

There are a pair of water coolers with gravity-defying stacks of paper cups attached to them.

A robot with a flexible tube arm is surrounded by scattered papers on the floor, lit by a spotlight in a dimly lit room with benches along the sides, evoking the mysterious atmosphere of Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry.

The machine actually moves. It has a pair of arms with dustpans attached and attempts to brush up the papers.

The papers include forms from the Muggle-Born Registration Commission and confidential memos.

A row of dark wooden lockers, reminiscent of scenes from Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, some open to reveal uniforms, a broomstick, bags, and various papers attached to the doors, all set against a wall with purple tiles.

Guests are funneled into the aurors’ locker room. Aurors are the Ministry’s magical law enforcement, and you might recognize some of the belongings of recent recruits. That’s Neville Longbottom’s sweater in one of the open lockers. The center locker appears to belong to Harry Potter.

A wooden locker door with posters, a scarf, a knit hat, a pennant, and a tin of sweets arranged inside evokes the magical world of Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry.

The third open locker is full of Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes products, indicating this is Ron Weasley’s locker.

Chalkboard titled "Auror Training Schedule" lists seven skill focuses, with diagrams and notes in chalk on the right—reminiscent of lessons from Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry.

The next room includes a chalkboard of the auror training schedule. One side is a list of skill focuses (recognizing Imperius Curses, Hex Evasion, etc.), and the other side has a diagram.

Three black and gold banners with names and stars hang on a dark-tiled wall above framed portraits and wall-mounted lamps, evoking the mysterious atmosphere of Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry in a dimly lit room.

There’s a tribute to fallen aurors with portraits and banners.

Frank and Alice Longbottom were tortured into madness by Voldemort’s followers during the First Wizarding World. Though they were not killed, they no longer recognized their son, Neville, and lived out their lives at St Mungo’s Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries. This tribute may indicate the Longbottoms have since passed.

Hesphaestus Gore was one of the first ever aurors and later a Minister for Magic. He’s not in the hall of ministers because his portrait is instead kept in the auror offices.

The last portrait and banner are for Alastor “Mad-Eye” Moody, a famous auror from Harry Potter’s time. Moody was meant to be the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher during Harry’s fourth year at Hogwarts, but he was secretly replaced by Barty Crouch. Harry later met the real Moody, but the auror died during the Battle of the Seven Potters.

A dimly lit vintage office with a desk, typewriter, newspapers, and people observing the scene behind a rope barrier.

A pair of desks with typewriters are behind railings.

A dimly lit room displays stacks of newspapers, a vintage typewriter, a lamp, and people observing the exhibit in the background—evoking scenes from Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry.

There are stacks of pink folios marked with the Ministry of Magic logo.

A wooden desk with two vintage typewriters, paperwork, a coffee cup, and a "WANTED" poster creates a dimly lit office scene reminiscent of the tense atmosphere in Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry.

A “confidential” wanted list is at the edge of one desk for guests to see as they walk by.

A vintage typewriter, stacks of folders, a lamp, and office supplies are arranged on a wooden desk—reminiscent of scenes from Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry—with people and shelves visible in the background.

Both desks feature Ministry Munchies goodies.

A glass-covered bulletin board displays various clippings, notes, and photos related to investigations and wanted notices from Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry within a fictional magical world.

A bulletin board next to the desks has moving photos of Umbridge, newspaper clippings, Ministry of Magic forms, a map of Great Britain with red pins, and notes like “Check with Arthur about brooch.”

Three-wheeled carts with stacks of purple folders tied with ribbon sit in front of filing cabinets and mirrors, evoking the atmosphere of Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, in a room with purple-tiled walls.

In the corner of the room are filing cabinets and carts with more folios, plus a large empty portrait frame. Look at the plaque at the bottom — it’s Pius Thicknesse’s missing frame.

Umbridge’s Office

A dimly lit vintage room with pink tiled walls, a wooden dresser cluttered with boxes, papers, and towels, and a warning sign on the right—evoking the tense atmosphere of Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry.

Guests are then sent down a pink hallway into Umbridge’s office. Outside of the office proper are two sets. A dresser and table appear to have been raided by Ministry officials. There are several boxes, one marked “Tracked.”

A dimly lit room with two vintage armchairs, a small table, scattered papers, and dark patterned walls evokes the clandestine atmosphere of Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry.

More boxes sit among a pair of pink armchairs. Some of Umbridge’s china plates are in one box.

A lavish, ornately decorated room with gold accents, shelves, and antique furniture evokes the atmosphere of Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry; various objects are displayed and a few people are visible in the background.

Now guests find themselves in the round, gilded, pink office of Dolores Umbridge. Umbridge was first introduced in “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.” She was the Senior Undersecretary to the Minister for Magic and, in Harry’s fifth year, appointed as Hogwarts’ new and hated Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher.

Gold ornate wall decoration and dark red tiled wall with three vertical arrangements of round, framed pictures featuring pink backgrounds evoke the magical atmosphere of Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry.

In addition to her love of pink, Umbridge was known for her love of cats. There are rows of plates featuring moving cat portraits on the wall of her office.

Circular frames with pink bows are mounted on a wall with pink tiles, displaying decorative and abstract pink images inspired by Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry.

Sometimes the cats will disappear, just leaving a pink background.

An ornate vintage desk with papers, teacup, old phone, and lamp in a richly decorated room with velvet and gold accents.

Umbridge’s desk features Ministry forms and cat stationery. There are more boxes throughout this room.

Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry introduces Umbridge’s never-before-seen house-elf, Higgledy. She’s in charge of packing up Umbridge’s office and sits atop a china cabinet with a clipboard.

Ornate office with gold decor, a pink chair, and a cluttered desk recalls the chaos of Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry; a mannequin dressed in pink sits above shelves stacked with boxes and wrapped packages.

Higgledy welcomes guests and wears some of Umbridge’s clothing — a pink shoe and scarf. Clothing is often a mark of a free house-elf.

Loading Area

Several people walk up a dimly lit staircase with green tiled walls and black railings, evoking the mysterious atmosphere of Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry in an indoor setting.

Guests then proceed up a staircase to the ride’s loading area.

People wait in line on a staircase with dark green tiled walls, under warm lights, reminiscent of a scene from Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, leading down to a hallway with monitors on the walls.

Here, a screen shows guests how to board the Ministry of Magic lifts (elevators), which act as the ride vehicles.

Don’t worry — these lifts aren’t as troublesome as some other theme park elevators. Although they are magical, so move in all directions.

A decorative gold metal gate with intricate designs sits under an arched entryway; green tile surrounds the arch, and an illuminated exit sign is on the left, evoking a scene from Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry as several people walk below.

Guests pass under a grate featuring the Ministry’s Art Deco logo.

People stand and walk inside a circular, tiled room with gold accents and black walls—reminiscent of Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry—as a woman points and others in uniforms converse or wait.

Team members direct guests to different lifts in this rotunda.

A group of people sit in two rows of the Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry themed amusement park ride vehicle, eagerly waiting for the attraction to begin.

The lifts have two rows of leather plush seats. As we mentioned before, it only uses seatbelts.

Two uniformed individuals stand at separate booths in front of a wall with black tiles and cautionary signs, evoking a scene reminiscent of Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry under bright lights.

When the lifts whisk away, guests waiting can see some Ministry posters.

One poster indicates guests should “double check they have all belongings, and do not attempt to leave behind any beasts, brooms, muggle briefcases, pets or children.” There are also posters advertising the inter-departmental memo service, Floo Network lost and found, and the Dragon Research and Restraint Bureau.

Now it’s time to ride! Be warned, there are spoilers ahead.

Ride Experience

Like other “Harry Potter” rides at Universal Orlando Resort, the Battle at the Ministry incorporates both screens and physical sets. Guests begin by passing by various other lifts with Ministry officials talking about the trial. They come across Harry, Ron, and Hermione in a lift with Higgledy.

There’s a sound, and the lift spins to show Umbridge and a Death Eater killing her guards. Umbridge uses a spell to transform her prisoner’s garb into a pink dress, then tells the Death Eater, Yaxley, to “dispose” of guests.

Yaxley sends the lift spinning out of control as Umbridge disapparates. Harry stops the careening lift, and the trio realizes Umbridge is after a Time-Turner, so they head to the Time Room.

A stage performance with dramatic lighting shows a central figure in dark robes holding a wand, evoking Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, surrounded by other actors and set pieces resembling bookshelves and arches.

A battle ensues in the Ministry archives. Ghosts of the Headless Hunt gallop through the chaos. Harry, Ron, and Hermione fight the Death Eaters and instruct guests to find Umbridge.

A person in a pink robe stands in a large hall with green pillars, magical creatures in glass enclosures, and another figure levitating in the background—evoking a scene from Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry.

The lift ends up in the Department of Magical Creatures, where Umbridge captures Higgledy. She forces the lift to drop down a story, where an Erumpent has escaped containment.

A large, gray, horned creature with glowing orange lumps stands near a balcony with people inside, evoking a scene reminiscent of Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry in a dark environment.

The elephant-like creature with a glowing horn breaks through a few walls and tosses the lift around a bit.

A large, stone-like unicorn with an orange-glowing horn stands beside a dimly lit elevator containing people in vintage attire, evoking the magical atmosphere of Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry.

After encountering the trio again, guests arrive at the Time Vault.

A person in a pink coat holds a puppet or creature before a lit, arched cabinet filled with objects—evoking the mysterious ambiance of Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry—while dark shelves display similar magical items.

Umbridge says guests are “too late” as she’s going to take herself back to the time of Lord Voldemort. However, all the Time-Turners were broken during the Battle of the Department of Mysteries a few years ago.

A person in a long coat stands by an open, illuminated vault filled with shelves of objects, handing something to a small creature hovering in midair—evoking the intrigue of Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry.

Higgledy warns Umbridge that she can’t use a broken Time-Turner. Umbridge tries to repair a Time-Turner, but the spell backfires, causing the Time Room to start breaking apart.

Two people stand inside a dark, industrial structure with large gears and clouds of smoke filling the background, evoking the tense atmosphere of Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry.

The mists of time breaking apart flow through the room. Harry, Ron, and Hermione warn guests to get out.

Umbridge tries to maintain order, but Higgledy takes her wand. Harry and Ron grab a falling Umbridge and apparate into the courtroom.

A courtroom scene inspired by Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, with a judge seated above, three people standing before him, and an audience watching from tiered benches in a dimly lit, dramatic setting.

Kingsley Shacklebolt sentences Umbridge to a life in the Wizarding prison, Azkaban. Hermione compliments Higgledy’s bravery as they travel in a lift with the Death Eaters they’ve captured. Higgledy thanks guests for their help.

Exit

A wall-mounted sign above a doorway reads "FAMILY ROOM," reminiscent of scenes from Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry. The walls and doorway are decorated with dark green and black tiles.

After the exit is the Family Room, where child swap is facilitated. Ask a Team Member at the front about child swap and they will be able to help.

A large bronze centaur statue stands beneath a domed ceiling with a stormy sky effect, evoking scenes from Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, surrounded by tall, curved buildings with red accents and illuminated windows.

Guests exit back through a green tunnel into the Ministry of Magic atrium.
