The official trailer has debuted for Marvel’s “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” which sees Marvel’s First Family take on the Silver Surfer.
‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ Official Trailer
As shared in a recent article from Variety, “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” serves as the official Marvel Cinematic Universe introduction of the superhero team since Disney acquired 20th Century Fox along with its assets.
The film takes place in an alternate, retro-futuristic 1960s Manhattan. It appears that the four superheroes are the only heroes as of now, so it’s unlikely that any other Marvel heroes will show up in the film.
Before Disney acquired 20th Century Fox, two other Fantastic Four teams debuted in theaters. The 2000s film saw Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans, and Michael Chiklis play the superhero team. Then, in 2015, a reboot of the film featured Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, and Jamie Bell.
The Fantastic Four was previously hinted at in the MCU during “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.” John Krasinski appeared briefly as Mister Fantastic before being killed off, and Chris Evans, who played Captain America, reprised his role as The Human Torch in “Deadpool & Wolverine” before meeting a similar fate as Krasinski’s character.
The film stars Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing. Other cast members include Ralph Ineson as the villain Galactus and Julia Gardner as the Silver Surfer.
