After weeks of preview dates. Epic Universe at Universal Orlando Resort has officially celebrated its Grand Opening. As a special giveaway to guests who visited the park on the first day of full operation, individuals leaving the park are able to receive a free Epic Universe commemorative ticket. The ticket comes in a hard paper folder with the standard Epic Universe gold logo on a blue starry background.

The back of the outer folder has more of the blue and purple starry sky background. The legal text printed on the back warns guests that “This commemorative ticket is a souvenir only and is not valid for theme park admission.” The text also notes that “this souvenir is not available for purchase and is subject to availability, while supplies last.”

When opening the folder, the interior has a pocket holding the actual ticket. The rest of the interior is a tan color with a pattern of the sun, moon, planets, and circles similar to the architecture in Celestial Park.

The Grand Opening Day ticket matches the gold color scheme and the usual starry background. The left side has the official park logo. The right side of the ticket has gold art showing the silhouettes of the four portals leading to each of the lands and the Chronos at the entrance. From left to right, the images include the Dark Universe portal, the Super Nintendo World portal, the Chronos in the middle, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter portal, and the Isle of Berk portal.

Above the art is white text saying “Grand Opening Day.” Below the silhouettes of the portals is the official opening date of May 22, 2025, and the individual commemorative ticket number.

The back of the ticket includes a QR code. This code takes guests to a webpage where they can get an exclusive Universal Epic Universe Grand Opening Day Digital Medallion. Getting the digital medallion requires a unique passcode printed on the left of each ticket. The passcode is one-use only.

Epic Universe officially opened today, May 22, 2025, and celebrated with a special opening ceremony featuring characters, smoke, music, and pyrotechnics by each of the individual portals. While Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry initially surged to a 5-hour wait time, the lines eventually settled down. As of 1 p.m., most attractions had wait times under 20 minutes and Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment was only a 10-minute wait.

We have a post with prices and photos of all the Epic Universe opening day exclusive merchandise. Universal also released a new line of park-branded merchandise as well as restocked some popular items, such as the Dark Universe vinyl record.
