A new version of the Romeo McGrowl walk-around character, wearing his new Country Bear Musical Jamboree digs, is now appearing in Frontierland at Magic Kingdom.
Romeo McGrowl
Disney Parks posted the following video of Romeo showing off his new outfit and Elvis-style pompadour, as well as signing autographs. This outfit is from the Country Bear Musical Jamboree, which replaced the old Country Bear Jamboree last year.
Romeo McGrowl was once called Liver Lips McGrowl, however, the original name is a racial slur. Disney stopped using it internally years before his name was officially changed to Romeo, and he would not autograph the name “Liver Lips.” Below is what the old walk-around character used to look like.
New walk-around versions of Country Bears Big Al, Wendell, and Terrence all debuted with the show’s opening last year. The Country Bears don’t have traditional set meet and greet times or locations, but roam Frontierland near Grizzly Hall.
