Spaceship Earth Closing for Refurbishment
According to Disney, Spaceship Earth will be temporarily closed for routine refurbishment starting August 25, 2025. The attraction is planned to reopen later this year, though no reopening date has been confirmed.
EPCOT Spaceship Earth Refurbishment
The work is expected to be standard maintenance and Disney has not announced any changes to the ride.
This news comes shortly after the opening of GEO-82, the adults-only bar themed to the classic attraction, located in the former Siemens corporate lounge. Read our review of every item on the menu and check out our full tour.

Spaceship Earth
Spaceship Earth is a slow-moving Omnimover ride at EPCOT inside the parks iconic geodesic sphere, that takes guests on a journey through the history of human communication, spanning from early cave paintings to the rise of the digital age. It was an opening day attraction for EPCOT Center, debuting on October 1, 1982. This is not the first EPCOT Spaceship Earth refurbishment, the ride has closed many times since its opening for routine and extended maintenance.
