Construction Walls Shifted, New Tiles Added to Main Street Train Station in Magic Kingdom

As the months-long refurbishment of the Main Street, U.S.A. train station at Magic Kingdom continues, the construction walls that used to be on the left side have now been shifted to the right. The scrims that used to be hanging on the left side have also been partially removed.

Construction walls and scrims were first erected around the Main Street, U.S.A. train station in January as the location goes through a routine refurbishment. As of our last update, the left side of the station was wrapped in construction walls, while the metal railing on the second level was completely covered by scrims. The walls have now shifted to the right half of the building, with the left side now partially uncovered.

The tan-colored scrims on the right side were already present, as were the rolling planters facing Town Square. The construction walls on the right corner, however, are new.

Over on the left side of the Main Street train station, all of the walls and rolling planters have been removed from this corner since last week. One small section of the scrim that was used to cover the metal railing on this corner has also been removed.

Guests can once again stand next to the train station wall on this side, and the small planter is visible again.

There have been no significant changes to the design on the train station, just some cleanup and repainting.

Meanwhile, the walls that used to surround the left corner have now moved to the right side. Like the walls that used to be on the left, they start to the side of the rolling planters and wrap around the curved station exterior. The walls go in front of the staircase and planters on this side.

The walls are all painted tan with white detailing and the usual Walt Disney quote signage. There is a single bench placed on this side for guests who want to sit in the shade.

The walls continue right up to the tunnel entrance on this side, meeting the stone facade at the corner.

Moving up to the second level, the section on the uncovered left side has now been opened to guests. This whole area has been refreshed with new tan tiles in standard straight lines. There are also some more benches moved back near the railing.

People walk near a green and cream main street train station with lamps, while others use an accessible ramp outside.

Guests climbing up the stairs can use the curved staircase on the left side or the main stairway in the middle. Construction walls still keep guests from walking over to the area on the right side of this second floor, since it is still under refurbishment.

A covered outdoor balcony overlooks the main street train station, with draped furniture under a glass ceiling and green framework.

Looking over the staircase, the matching tan tiles have not yet been installed near the front walkway or the right seating area. The railings in this area are all still covered in scrims to keep them from getting damaged.

We could see where the structure is being prepped for the tiles to be placed, so we expect to see more work on this side of the train station soon.

In other Walt Disney World Railroad news, Disney recently filed a construction permit for the train station in Frontierland, which is set to close next month as work begins on the area’s “Cars” expansion. Following the closure, the Walt Disney World Railroad will operate in “shuttle mode,” with the train going forward and backward between the Main Street station and the Storybook Circus station instead of finishing a full loop of the park.

The Walt Disney World Railroad was last closed for an extensive refurbishment during the construction of TRON, which was completed in 2022. The Frontierland station was also recently refurbished as part of the nearby attraction transformation from Splash Mountain to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
