The heatwave in Central Florida continues, as sections of the region, including Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort, are under yet another heat advisory.
Orlando News – New Central Florida Heat Advisory Affecting Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando

The National Weather Service in Melbourne, Florida issued the advisory shortly after 9 p.m. on Sunday, July 27 for Monday, July 28, 2025. The advisory will be in effect from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. ET on Monday, and the affected areas include the following counties, as well as the Greater Orlando area in general:
- Volusia
- Lake
- Seminole
- Orange
- Oscelola
- Brevard
- Okeechobee
Among the affected areas is Orange County, where Universal Orlando and most of Walt Disney World are located, along with Osceola County, where the rest of Walt Disney World is based.
This heat advisory continues the trend of being levels 3 and 4, indicating a major to extreme heat risk that “affects anyone without adequate cooling /hydration,” with “little overnight relief.” The heat index for Monday is forecast to reach a “feels-like” temperature of 108-112°F; the advisory reached the same high real-feel temperature on July 21.
As with most heat advisories, today’s notice warns that “hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.” Those in the affected counties are advised to “drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.”
The advisory also suggests taking extra precautions when going outside, such as wearing lightweight and loose-fitting clothing, limiting strenuous activities to early morning or evening hours, and taking action when seeing symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
This is the latest heat advisory for Central Florida, part of an ongoing trend that started earlier this month. The most recent advisory was issued on July 26, with previous advisories on July 18, 20, and 21.
