The service is known as the Disney Vacation Club Ferry because Old Key West was the first DVC resort, originally named Disney’s Vacation Club Resort. The transportation has been closed since February while the Old Key West dock was refurbished. The dock received new decking and safety decals.

Sassagoula River Cruise service remained available between Old Key West and Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and the Treehouse Villas.

The D.V.C. Ferry sign at Old Key West now advertises water taxi service to Disney Springs departing daily from 10 a.m. to 10:20 p.m. The final return service from Disney Springs to Old Key West resort is at 11:30 p.m. Old Key West Resort boats have a green flag on them.

Operations are subject to weather, and this boat was ceasing operations when we visited on Wednesday. They stop service for a minimum of 30 minutes when there is lightning within 10 miles of the water.

We also learned that the water taxis are changing their rules regarding horns starting on Thursday. They will now follow Coast Guard horn regulations when the boats are backing up.
