Kathryn Hahn and Jon Favreau were spotted at Disneyland Park this week filming for a new Oswald the Lucky Rabbit Disney+ series.

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit Filming at Disneyland

The series, operating under the codename “Ink and Paint,” blends live-action and animation. X user @DudeSkipper saw an Oswald model on site along with live actors. The crew has been filming throughout Disneyland, including in front of Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room and on Main Street, U.S.A.

Jon Favreau is writing and producing the project. Though he was on set, he is not credited as a director. Hahn (Agatha All Along) was accompanied by child actors Mykal-Michelle Harris (Raven’s Home, Mixed-ish) and Ryder Allen (The Penguin, Palmer). The series also stars Ravi Cabot-Conyers (Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, Encanto) and Amy Sedaris.

WDWNT spotted the crew filming at “So Much That We Share,” the tribute exhibit to the Sherman Brothers in Disneyland Park.

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit History

Walt Disney created Oswald the Lucky Rabbit in 1927. Oswald starred in several animated shorts created by Disney before Universal took control of the character. To replace Oswald, Disney created the character of Mickey Mouse.

Disney CEO Bob Iger successfully reacquired the rights to Oswald in 2006. Since then, Oswald has made appearances in the Disney Parks and on merchandise. He was a main character in the video game Epic Mickey. In 2022, Disney released their first hand-drawn Oswald short in 95 years.
