Even more track has now been removed in the New York section of Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit as demolition of the former attraction continues.

Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit’s final day of operation was August 17, but demolition around the attraction began back in June. After the closure, we saw pieces of track removed from the coaster before an entire loop was removed.

The ride’s final loop used to be located in this area. It carried guests up to a drop before the ride’s end, but now it has been replaced with dirt work, excavators, and other construction equipment.

From the area of Minion Land, even more construction equipment is visible past this piece of track.

Near Music Plaza the ride appears relatively untouched, with the lift and first drop still intact.

However, moving over to the New York area, more track has been removed, in addition to the Subway photo-op being blocked off.

Just in front of the New York Public Library facade, a large section of the curving track has been removed just after the former firehouse facade at the end of the street.

Universal stated Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit was closing to make way for a new experience, but hasn’t announced specifics yet. There are rumors that they could build a new multi-launch roller coaster by Intamin. Construction walls in Universal Studios Florida reference GhostbustersBack to the Future, and Fast & Furious, fueling rumors that the new attraction could be based on one of those franchises. A recently-filed permit called for a two-story building in the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit site.
