Sunglass Icon by Sunglass Hat at Downtown Disney District is currently closed and surrounded by construction walls.

The small store is located on the east end of Downtown Disney, next to Starbucks. Work walls are around the lower half of the facade. There are no signs of construction on the other side yet.

This has been the flagship Sunglass Hut location at Downtown Disney District since 2011, when the space underwent a remodel. Despite its current closure, it is listed as open on the Disneyland Resort website. A Sunglass Icon kiosk is open on the opposite end of Downtown Disney.

The west side of Downtown Disney District has been going through a major update. A new stage and grassy area opened in late 2023. Tortilla Jo’s was demolished to make way for the new Arthur & Sons Steak and Bourbon and quick-service Pearl’s Roadside BBQ.

Late last year, the new D-Lander Shop and Avengers Reserve opened, followed by Disney Storyland Boutique in January. The former ESPN Zone building is being transformed to house multiple storefronts, including a new lululemon store.

Porto’s Bakery is set to take over the former La Brea Bakery space, but construction has been delayed. The former Earl of Sandwich location was demolished in 2022. Earl of Sandwich is temporarily operating out of the bakery storefront.
