An Epic Universe Slush is now available at Orlando-area McDonald’s locations, offering a treat and giveaway opportunity in a themed cup.

Large Epic Universe Mix Slush – $3.79
While Epic Universe does have exclusive Coke Freestyle flavors, this beverage is just a themed mix of some regular McDonald’s options. The slush is a mix of Fanta Blue Raspberry and Sprite Lymonade. The flavors are not swirled, but rather layered so you get a stripe of yellow at the bottom and blue toward the top.
The mix comes in an Epic Universe cup. On one side, the golden Epic Universe logo and Universal Orlando Resort are written on a blue background. White text also has the park’s “Five Immersive Worlds, One Amazing New Theme Park” tagline.
The other side of the clear plastic cup promotes an Epic Universe Giveaway with a “Scan to Win” QR code. It is clearly branded as an official giveaway with McDonald’s, Epic Universe, and Coca-Cola branding.
One important note is that during our visit, not every guest had the branded cup. We ordered the large, which seemed to guarantee receiving the themed cup. Some of the guests who had ordered medium sizes got their beverages in standard cups, though this likely varies by restaurant.
Review
This beverage is not anything fancy. It is two standard beverages mixed into one slush. That being said, the flavor itself is good. It combines the sweetness of blue raspberry with the sloguthly more sour carbonation from the Sprite. We wouldn’t go out of our way to get this, but it was a solid snack.
However, we do give some extra points for the theming of the cup. We partially expected the Epic Universe Mix to just be a local name for a standard drink, especially since a similar version called Michigan Mix exists in other states. So, we were surprised the cup had the official park logo and the link to a giveaway.
We also have to mention that if this slush was being served inside an actual theme park, it would probably be triple the price. For $3.79, it is a fun way to show your love for Epic Universe on the go.

Locations & Giveaway
The Epic Universe-inspired drink is currently available only at the McDonald’s locations near Universal Orlando Resort. The employees in the restaurant did not have any information on whether the drink will expand to other locations, or how long it will be offered.
It also appears that the giveaway will not open until tomorrow, September 8 at 10:00 a.m. ET. The giveaway website provides more information about Universal’s newest theme park.
