Main Street Train Station Refurbishment Now Complete in Magic Kingdom

The nine month refurbishment of the Main Street train station at Magic Kingdom is finally complete.

In our last update, the train station at Magic Kingdom was almost complete, with only one section of stairs remaining closed and a small area of construction walls remaining on the upper level.

The train station’s two side staircases were both open, though one section of the main staircase near the construction walls was still blocked. Now, all stairways are open. There is a rope present in our pictures due to the early hour, but they were both open a little later in the day.

All scrim and construction walls are now removed. Plus, it appears the train station has received some additional fall decorations now that the walls are gone. While the bunting on the top of the roof was present during out last update, the wreaths along the railing and the leaves under the lights are all new.

The refurbishment project on the Main Street train station began in January 2025. The Walt Disney World Railroad has continued to operate, although it’s currently in shuttle mode due to the closure of the Frontierland train station.

The Frontierland station closed for construction of the park’s Cars expansion and the upcoming Disney Villains land. This station and the railroad are not expected to resume normal operations until the nearby construction is completed.
