Wind chill in Central Florida will be as low as 27°F overnight as the area sees a significant drop in temperature. The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued Cold Weather Advisories that include Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort.
Cold Weather in Central Florida
The high today for Orlando, Florida, is a cool 59°F with temperatures in the high 40s on Tuesday morning. The Cold Weather Advisory will be in effect from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. EST on Wednesday, covering Indian River, Saint Lucie, Coastal Volusia, Inland Martin,
Brevard, Okeechobee, Orange, Osceola, and Seminole Counties.
Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort are both in Orange County with some areas of Disney in Osceola. The cold weather will continue over the next few days, possibly affecting New Year’s Eve celebrations.
Typhoon Lagoon and Volcano Bay will be both be closed on select dates this week as well.
Guests should wear hats, gloves, and other appropriate clothing. Residents should keep pets indoors.
There is also a Freeze Watch for Wednesday morning for inland Volusia and Lake Counties.
