Walt Disney Imagineering Files Permit for Set Elements at Haunted Mansion

A new permit filed by Walt Disney Imagineering is for the installation of set elements at The Haunted Mansion in Magic Kingdom.

The Notice of Commencement is for 1600 Magic Kingdom Dr., the address of The Haunted Mansion in Liberty Square. It contracts Mecca Productions to “Install set elements.” Mecca is a design, fabrication, and installation firm that frequently collaborates with Imagineering. They were on the permit for the new Toy Story Land snack kiosk and are also working on the reimagining of DINOSAUR into an Indiana Jones ride and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets.

A permit from Imagineering usually means more thematic updates rather than standard maintenance. Disney has not announced any changes to The Haunted Mansion and the permit may not be for anything major, but we will share if they do. There is construction ongoing by The Haunted Mansion queue related to the park’s new Cars area.
