Woman Sues Disney After Tripping & Falling on a Wet Substance Near Samawati Springs Pool at Animal Kingdom Lodge

A woman is suing Disney World for $50,000 after she tripped and fell on a “wet substance” near the Samawati Springs Pool at Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village.

A woman is suing Disney World for $50,000 after she tripped and fell on a "wet substance" near the Samawati Springs Pool at Animal Kingdom Lodge - Kidani Village.

The lawsuit was filed by Luisa Hanfling of Broward County, Florida against Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. Filed in December 2025 in the Florida Circuit Court in Orange County, Florida, she claims she sustained serious bodily injuries when she suddenly and without warning slipped and fell.

According to the lawsuit, the incident was allegedly “caused by a wet substance, believed to be water, near the edge of the Samawati Springs Pool.” It occurred earlier this year, on March 9, 2025.

Hanfling believes Disney owed it to her maintain the premises in a reasonably safe condition and should have warned her of any dangerous conditions about which it knew or should have known about. She also alleges that Disney failed to do both of these things.

As a direct result of this negligence, the lawsuit claims she suffered:

  • Bodily and terminal injury including a permanent injury to her body as a whole
  • Pain and suffering of both a physical and mental nature
  • Disability, physical impairment, disfigurement, mental anguish, inconvenience
  • Loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life
  • Aggravation of an existing condition
  • Expense of hospitalization, medical, and nursing care and treatment
  • Past lost wages, loss of earning power, diminished earning capacity
  • Loss of ability to lead and enjoy a normal life
  • Losses are permanent or continuing and Plaintiff will suffer in the future

Hanfling is suing for $50,000.
