The Dino Institute intern, an improv musician who debuted in 2024 at Restaurantosaurus, will remain at Disney’s Animal Kingdom after DinoLand, U.S.A. closes but will move to a new location.
Dino Institute Musician

Last week, guests spotted the intern(s) performing in the Discovery River stands. We spoke to one of the interns today, who explained that was a test and not a permanent change. The interns will continue to perform at Restaurantosaurus until the restaurant — and DinoLand as a whole — closes next month.
The musicians will then move to Africa. They will presumably get a new costume and theme, seeing as there will no longer be a Dino Institute for them to intern at.
Over the summer of 2025, the interns performed with characters on Discovery Island as part of Cool Kids Summer offerings. Disney has not announced if that show will return for summer 2026. Check out the intern on Discovery Island below:
@wdwnt For Cool Kid Summer at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the Dino Institute intern is now roaming Discovery Island, and a limited-time Wilderness Explorers badge is available! The musical interns previously just appeared at Restaurantosaurus in DinoLand U.S.A. During Cool Kid Summer, you’ll spot the intern roaming Discovery Island near the stage across from Flame Tree Barbecue. What do you think of this entertainment offering?
