The Sam Wilson Captain America character is no longer appearing in Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure.
Sam Wilson Captain America Ends Appearances
Saturday, January 24 was reportedly the last day the character appeared. Sam Wilson’s Captain America was a walk-around character and also appeared in the Avengers Assemble stunt show that ended performances last spring, following a slew of entertainment cuts to the land and park.
The change comes ahead of the release of Avengers: Doomsday in which Chris Evans will return as the original Captain America, Steve Rogers. Anthony Mackie is also set to reprise his role as Sam Wilson / Captain America.
Mackie last appeared as Cap in Captain America: Brave New World, released in February 2025.
Avengers Campus Expansion
Two new Avengers Campus rides, Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab, are currently under construction. The expansion will nearly double the size of the land.
A new building for restrooms is also under construction, and walls have gone up around the former Tower of Terror FastPass distribution station.
